Submetering System Design and Installation

Main Objective

As part of the relocation of Kadena Elementary School, DCEC was tasked to design and supply a submetering system featuring UL and CSA listed, revenue-grade accurate, power and energy metering device. 

The Challenge

The new submetering system shall include wall-mounted meters featuring built-in Modbus RTU serial communications over a shielded-twisted-pair network. Multiple power metering and monitoring devices are to be networkable, automatically sense the line voltage, and shall power themselves directly from the monitored circuit.

The Solution

DCEC engineers designed a solution including over 25 enclosed I-45 meters with Modbus module, integrating display units, interface boards, and numerous current transformers so the Government specs were met in their entirety.
